Conference Logistics:

  • Date:

Since the MLA conference is April 21-23 this year, we were thinking of holding the unconference in May.  This will put it aroundthe time of final exams and/or graduation ceremonies.

Most people seemed to think a Friday would be best.

         Fridays in May are:
  • May 7
  • May 14
  • May 21
  • May 28 (the Friday before Memorial Day)
Are any of these dates particularly good or bad?
Should we try for a day other than Friday?

  • Location

    • Someplace in Western Maryland
      • ACRL has not had a program in Western Maryland for awhile
      • Could be far to drive for some people
      • OTOH may be good to get away
    • Central Maryland
      • Most ACRL meetings happen here.
      • Probably has highest concentration of libraries/librarians
      • Is equidistant from westernmost and easternmost parts of the state
    • Eastern shore
      • Close to MLA conference site
      • Also good for a getaway.
